چکیده

In this work, we describe an improved thermal-vacuum compatible flat plate radiometric source which has been developed and utilized for the characterization and calibration of remote optical sensors. This source is unique in that it can be used in situ, in both ambient and thermal-vacuum environments, allowing it to follow the sensor throughout its testing cycle. The performance of the original flat plate radiometric source was presented at the 2009 SPIE. Following the original efforts, design upgrades were incorporated into the source to improve both radiometric throughput and uniformity. The pre-thermal-vacuum (pre-TVAC) testing results of a spacecraft-level optical sensor with the improved flat plate illumination source, both in ambient and vacuum environments, are presented. We also briefly discuss potential FPI configuration changes in order to improve its radiometric performance.

Characterization of Earth observing satellite instruments for response to spectrally and spatially variable scenes

Earth-observing satellite sensors are calibrated in the laboratory against blackbody and lamp-based uniform optical radiation standards. These sources and additional characterization tests fail to approximate the spatially, spectrally, and temporally complex scenes viewed on-orbit by these sensors. The lack of appropriate diagnostic tools limits the ability of researchers to fully characterize ...

Optimization of Thermal Instability Resistance of FG Flat Structures using an Improved Multi-objective Harmony Search Algorithm

This paper presents a clear monograph on the optimization of thermal instability resistance of the FG (functionally graded) flat structures. For this aim, two FG flat structures, namely an FG beam and an FG circular plate, are considered. These structures are assumed to obey the first-order shear deformation theory, three-parameters power-law distribution of the constituents, and clamped bounda...

Application of remote sensing data in measuring the area of the Zardkuh glaciers

Glaciers influenced by climatic factors and therefore as an important indicator in the study of climate change are studied. Although morphometric analyzes of glaciers based on the analysis of optical satellite data can provide an opportunity to measure ice outcrops, but the identification and determination of the buried glaciers underneath the glacial debris and, consequently, the determination...

Approximate solution of laminar thermal boundary layer over a thin plate heated from below by convection

In this paper, an integration of a symbolic power series method - Padé approximation technique (PS - Padé), was utilized to solve a system of nonlinear differential equations arising from the similarity solution of laminar thermal boundary layer over a flat plate subjected to a convective surface boundary condition. As both boundary conditions tended to infinity, the combination of series solut...

Analytical Solution of The Laminar Boundary Layer Flow over Semi-Infinite Flat Plate: Variable Surface Temperature

In this paper, the problem of forced convection over a horizontal flat plate under condition of variable plate temperature is presented and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is employed to compute an approximation to the solution of the system of nonlinear differential equations governing the problem. This paper provides good supplements to the existing literature and generalizes the previ...
